Content:

Severance script file (c) Rebel Act Studios 2001 modified by Adam Moravanszky
(amoravanszky@dplanet.ch)

Mod: Strafe version 2.2

Changes since version 2.0:

* Compatible with Rebel Act's official Severance Patch

Description:
Adds strafing ability outside of combat.

Instructions:

This zip file contains 4 files in 2 directories. For the Original (unpatched)
version of the game, use the files from the zip subdirectory "ForOriginalGame".
If you have installed the official Severance patch use files from dir
"ForPatchedGame".

Place the Damage.py into your Severance/Lib directory after you make a backup
of the files which get replaced.
Put Action Tables.py into your Severance/Scripts/biped directory.

The mod will work with your old save games. You may use the mod together with
other mods unless otherwise noted.

Use instructions:

1) Start a new game
2) Press Attack once. You should see the message "Respawn and Strafe mods installed."
3) press and hold "Q" and "E" to strafe left and right respectively.

4) You may want to remap these keys to something more sensible. Do this by
editing the Damage.py file's lines at the top:

SLEFTKEY = "Q"
SRIGHTKEY = "E"

change Q and E to whatever you want.

Changes since version 1.0:

* Strafing can be combined with movement keys
* May freelook during strafe
* You don't get stuck in strafe mode.
* Easily remappable keys.

Note:

This is an unofficial, third party modification (mod) to the PC game Severance:
Blade of Darkness (Also known as: Blade: Edge of Darkness) by the Spanish Rebel
Act Studios, published by Codemasters. The mod is provided without a warranty
of any kind, neither by the authors listed below, nor Rebel Act or Codemasters.

Use at your own risk.

These mods try to improve Severance by making it more accessible to less
experienced players, and to change things which we believe are frustrating or
bad design in the game. This is based on our own taste, as well as on a
significant amount of opinions we saw in the form of newsgroup postings. We try
to avoid creating 'cheats'. Also, we only create mods which are in the spirit
of the game as intended by Rebel Act. That is, we don't have mods which add a
rocket launcher or simplify combat to be like Rune.
